French Farmhouse
Antique
An antique stoneware pitcher from France, likely dating to the 19th century. The high-fired grès-cérame body features a brilliant ivory glaze adorned with the unmistakable cobalt blue floral garlands typical of Saint-Uze production. Given the straight "barrel" shape, the front spout, and the table-ready size, this is a quintessential bistro pitcher. While it could absolutely hold cold milk for the breakfast table, this specific shape was heavily used for serving a demi (half-liter) of table wine or cider during lunch or dinner.
