Antique Large Alsace Stoneware Crock II

An antique salt-glazed stoneware crock found in Chambord, likely originating from the Alsace region circa late 19th to early 20th century. This substantial piece is crafted from heavy grey stoneware, featuring a wide-mouthed cylindrical form flanked by two robust, hand-molded lug handles. The front is decorated with a vivid, freehand cobalt blue slip design depicting traditional regional stylized floral or avian motifs, which contrasts against the characteristic orange-peel texture of the salt glaze.
