An exceptional antique French faïence kitchen canister set found in Chambord, originating circa 1900–1920. This complete, highly coveted six-piece nesting series features a beautiful square silhouette elevated by elegant, integrated bracket feet and topped with matching fitted, handled lids. Rendered in a classic French country blue-on-cream palette, each jar is adorned with a delicate, freehand border of trailing clover or floral vines framing traditional French typography. The set scales down beautifully in size according to its historical pantry purpose, labeled verbatim from largest to smallest: Farine (Flour), Sel (Salt), Café (Coffee), Thé (Tea), Poivre (Pepper), and Épices (Spices). Presenting wonderful, honest utility from decades in a provincial kitchen, the set shows a character-rich patina, including minor, expected glaze wear along the lid rims and subtle discoloration that beautifully anchors its authentic turn-of-the-century heritage.
