Louis XV Revival

Vintage

A vintage small wall mirror found in Alsace, likely originating from France circa 1950s. This vintage piece is executed in the classic Louis XV Revival style—a design language defined by its complete embrace of organic curves over rigid lines. The heavy cast-metal frame features a fluid, romantic cartouche silhouette, heavily embellished with asymmetrical scrollwork, sweeping foliage, and a prominent classical scallop shell crowning the crest. The back retains its original fiberboard backing panel and its original triangular hanging ring. The weathered patina of the gilded frame shows beautiful, deep antiqued tones that provide a rich contrast to the clear mirror plate.
