This authentic French dame-jeanne (or demijohn) features a classic green glass bottle entirely encased in its original, hand-woven wicker jacket. Historically used across rural Europe to safely transport and ferment homemade wines, ciders, and oils, the protective willow reed sleeve shielded the fragile glass from breakage during transit while naturally protecting the contents from direct light. Complete with its beautifully integrated, braided wicker handle, this piece stands as a wonderful testament to traditional European agricultural utility and folk craftsmanship.
